13 People Indicted Involved in Turkey bomb blast - Thirteen suspects, including 10 Turks, indicted for a suicide bomb attack Istanbul airport. The deadliest incident of some attack to attack the country's largest city this year.
Turkish officials blamed the attacks ISIS weapons and a bomb blast that occurred on Tuesday, June 28th at the Ataturk Airport, which killed 45 people, including 19 foreigners.
"The suspects, who were in police custody, charged with a terror group, with murder and endangering the integrity of the country," reported the Turkish news agency, Dogan without specifying the nationality of foreigners was quoted by The Guardian, Monday (07/04/2016).
Prime Minister (PM) Turkey Binali Yildirim, gave some new details on the investigation. One of them mentioned that the police had arrested a total of 29 suspects during the raid, including foreigners.
Officials earlier said three bombers are citizens of Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
"Everything will be revealed in time. We're doing a thorough investigation on this matter," said Prime Minister Yildirim.
Istanbul authorities said until Sunday, July 3rd local time, 49 people were injured in a bomb blast at the Ataturk Airport was still being treated. While 17 others were in intensive care.
Turkish media identified the person who orchestrated the attacks as Akhmed Chatayev, the Chechen leader of ISIS network in Istanbul. He reportedly arranged accommodation for the bombers.
"Chatayev allegedly organizing two deadly bombings this year in the heart of the tourist district of Sultanahmet and Istiklal Street," the Hurriyet newspaper reported.
Turkey has been rocked by a series of attacks in the past year, all of which allegedly orchestrated by ISIS or Kurdish rebels.
Turkey bomb blast this time hitting the tourism industry in the country. On the day Friday, July 1st, Germany issued a warning to its citizens to be careful if they are traveling to Turkey.
